David MacDonald

David is a Scottish artist based in Glasgow and has been pursuing a love of drawing and painting since early childhood. He studied biology but built a successful career in IT. However, more recently, he has embraced his first love with renewed verve, passion and inspiration and has embarked on a path to take his life in a more artistic and expressive direction.
David's journeys in taking each blank canvas to finished painting are personal odysseys culminating in a powerful celebration of the power, strength, grace, sensuality and beauty of the human physique. Through the fusion of striking colour, dramatic lighting, and composition, he entices the viewer to join him in exploring the infinite wonder and drama of the human form - to feel the explosive power harnessed in a coiled spring, to feel the tension in straining muscles and sinews, to feel the calming warmth and intimacy of a body at rest, to feel the delicacy and sensitivity of a caress, to feel the person within bursting free from teh shackles of life, to feel the glow within, to feel...David's unique and personal style brings with it an expression of individuality and freedom.
